5 out of 5 stars My favorite strings for electric   March 21, 2008

These are my favorite strings for electric guitar. I've been using them since I started playing about eighteen years ago. I've tried other strings, like Gibson and D'Addario, but I like the sound and feel of Ernie Balls the best -- they feel nice, full, thick, hefty. I play blues, jazz, and bluesy rock. I use these on a Gibson Les Paul Vintage Mahogany and a Yamaha neck-thru-body electric, and they are good for the music I play and for providing a full-bodied sound. There are a whole host of "big name" guitarists who use these strings, and for good reason. I buy them in 10 packs to save money -- can't seem to find that option here on Amazon.

I find no desire to change brands after stringing my telecaster with these beasts. They stay in tune, sound great, and are easy on the fingers. I'll continue to use them until something markedly better comes along and is somehow strung on my instrument without my knowledge.

5 out of 5 stars Here's why they are so loved   May 30, 2010

I have been using the EB Regular Slinkys since 1980. I have used this set on every type of electric guitar that you can imagine. From Les Pauls to Stratocasters and everything in between these strings have been an essential part of each one of my guitars.

The strings sound warm and bright (good articulate treble highs with clear but subtle bass lows) without any shrill "tin-like" noise. Being that these strings do not overpower the tone of your guitar, you can be assured that you will get to hear the heart of the tonewoods your guitar is made from. Any style of music can be played on these strings without fear of an inferior performance.

Easy to clean...durable...reliable...consistent high quality...versatile...inexpensive. This is the set loved by millions for several generations. This is Ernie Ball.

Best Strings I have ever used.

They hold their tune, and sound great.

5 out of 5 stars The BEST Strings... personally.   September 22, 2009

I've tried all kinds of strings, Rotosound, GHS, Dean Markley... they just muddle the sound and/or make the guitar harder to play due to unwanted string tension... I play an LTD EC1000 with EMG 81+85pups, hands down the best guitar I've ever played, even better than the Gibson SG's I've had (which I still wish I actually had my first one), but even tried different Ernie balls... get these, they're all you need.
