| Customer Reviews: Consistency and durability April 10, 2010 Iowa Lawyer (Iowa, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A good compromise string for varied playing styles. The tone is pleasant -- fairly bright sound without being too tinny -- neither a crystal clear flamenco string nor a warm folk string. Tension is good (if a little soft for my tastes) but they can play surprisingly loud, stand up to hard strumming and picking, and remain buzz-free. But the best aspect of these Rotosound strings, by far, is their consistency. Once strung, they require less retuning than any others strings I've tried, such as Bella, Ernie Ball, or D'Addario, and there is far less degradation in sound quality over the life of the strings. For me, these strings have lasted and stayed playable for considerably longer than the others. I've typically gotten 3-4 months of daily practicing out of a set, which makes these a bargain and my first choice for strings.
A matter of taste September 25, 2009 Mr RockN (MI) I'm not going to say these are bad strings, I just don't care for the sound of the wrapped strings. I prefer the warmer sound of the bronze wrapped strings. I had never used this type before and thought I'd give them a try. To me they sound a little thinner than the bronze. I think this is just a matter of taste and possibly the guitar you put them on.
