| Customer Reviews: Great strings if you like a particular sound (see review) February 7, 2007 Patrick D. Goonan (Pleasanton, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I use these strings on my Spector fretless bass because they tend to give a sound that is more in the direction of an upright. It's a more mellow and less metallic sound that I find is particularly well-suited to jazz.
These strings hold up well and tend to retain their tone. I also find that they are easier on the fingers and a good value for the money. If you are looking for a more mellow sound, they are certainly worth a try.
NO FRET BUZZ February 23, 2008 Mark A. Bentz 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These strings took the buzz out of my bass. Very easy on the fingers will buy again.
Not into Flatwound strings October 22, 2009 R. Sweet (Seattle, NY) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased these because a few of my friends talked them up saying they were one of the best set of strings they had ever used. I did enjoy the very smooth feel of the strings, but the sound left a lot to be desired. They have a very good 'Buddy Holy' era rock sound, but not much else. They definitely will not sound good with a slap technique, but that isn't what they were intended for. Overall I did not enjoy them, but I could see where some people might.
