| Customer Reviews: Simply the Best July 7, 2010 RoyStereo As i titled my review, this string set is as good as the expensive ones, plus it has that particular punchy, fat, clear sound that everyone loves. I am not only a bass player but also a string dealer. Because of this I had the opportunity to test a wide range of brands, materials, gauges, etc. Ernie ball have something that the other ones don't. Give you the opportunity to check it!
Good enough for rock 'n' roll May 19, 2009 Robert Graden (Eugene, OR) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Rotosounds (stainless steel) are hard not only on your fingertips but on your nickel frets as well. In my opinion, with Ernie Ball nickel bass strings you get the response you need with less damage to either. The string life may be lesser, but when do you want to spend $400 to have your instrument refretted due to steel damage? If Ernie Ball is good enough for Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson), don't you think it's good enough for you?
