Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Elixir® Strings give acoustic guitar players something they have long been waiting for; phosphor bronze strings that keep their tonal "sweet spot" over the entire life of the string. The consensus among many musicians is that phosphor bronze strings offer the most sensitive, expressive tone that brings out the very best in guitars-virtually taking them to a higher level of play. However, that tone can be short-lived. Elixir® Strings has solved this classic conundrum by applying an ultra-thin layer of NANOWEB® Coating to protect the string's windings hence preserving the coveted phosphor bronze tone. Gauges: 013; 017; 026w; 035w; 045w; 056w

5 out of 5 stars Great strings, long life   August 12, 2007

I tried other extended life phosphor bronze strings (including D'Addario) before these but found that they went flat and lost their tone far too quickly -- definitely not extra life as far as I was concerned. I have been very pleased with the tone and life of these.

5 out of 5 stars Bought as a Christmas present   February 9, 2010

Bought these strings as a Christmas present for my brother-in-law. He states these are the best strings he has ever used. He said the life of these strings are longer and well worth the extra price. Shipper has an excellent ship time also.

5 out of 5 stars My Husband won't use any other strings!   August 18, 2010
J. Jack (Maine, USA)
I almost had a heart attack when I first noticed that my husband had put these on my Wish List to order for him. I thought the image looked like a condom package.

I don't play guitar, but he does and also repairs and restrings guitars and says these are the only ones he'll use. He's pretty fussy, so I'd say that's an excellent recommendation.

3 out of 5 stars surprised I didn't like these strings   December 15, 2006

I absolutely love Elixir Nanoweb strings, and before I started buying Elixir strings I frequently bought phosphor bronze strings of various brands. I was really excited when I found these. Unfortunately, I've been really disappointed with the tone, which I wouldn't describe as "sweet" at all as mentioned in the product description. Closer to "dull," and difficult to hear in jam sessions, at least without amplification.

Like their other nanoweb strings, they appear that they could last a long time without their sound changing much, which is the main reason I'm giving them 3 stars instead of 2. I have gone back to using Elixir's non-phosphor-bronze nanoweb strings, and will continue to be a loyal fan.
