Great Strings, I use Elixir strings for both my 6 and 12 string Martin's.Its a little high in price but the sound generated by them is excellent and they last a lot longer then others.Great buy here at Amazon.....
Great strings December 17, 2009 Jennie (MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got these for my dad for christmas. He loves them. He's been a musician for about 50 years and says that these are the best strings you can get. If he's happy with them, I'm happy with them.
The best sound on my Taylor 355 January 28, 2007 D. Reinstein (Fairfax, CA USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have tried many types of steel strings. My Taylor 355 came delivered with these - and though I have tried several others, I have returned to them. Their ease of play (smoothness to fret and finger) and light but rich tonality makes them a good choice for your 12-string. Haven't tried 'em yet? Pick up a set - they ARE different and, in many ways, better than the more standard Phosphor Bronze strings that were the best before these came along.
Elixir Strings Acoustic Guitar Strings, 12-String, Light NANOWEB Coating June 24, 2010 MRELK2 (Chicago IL) Bought these strings for my Epiphone 12 string guitar I have had for 30Years and still going strong. These strings gave the guitar a new crisp sound again.
I also bought (3) 6 String sets for my other guitars around the house and having fun teaching my 11 year old daughter and 6 year old son to play them.
Stiff price for mediocre tone quality. October 4, 2009 Masked Avenger (A few miles east of I-75) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I asked my wife to order this set for my birthday as I can get a set of Martins installed for about the same price as the Elixirs in the package. I was curious to see how long they would hold a fresh intonation for their premium price.
After installation & tuning, I immediately noticed the strings lacked the extended "ring" of a fresh set Martins, actually sounding like they had been casually played for a couple of weeks or so. That's O.K. for rehearsal, but a bit too dull for performance. So far they sound the same after a month of playing- perhaps that's the advantage, but I suspect the advertised special process dulls the sound one would expect from a fresh set of Martins.
