Nanoweb® coating permits strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional strings. Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years and deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play. Elixir Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone! Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great three to five times longer than ordinary strings. Gauges: 12, 16, 24, 32, 42, 53

Product Description Elixir Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings; Don't Mess around with An Ordinary String!Elixir Strings with ultra thin NANOWEB coating sound great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings. They have the bright tone and punch of non-coated strings. All this and they still feel like traditional stringsElixir Nanoweb Acoustic String FeaturesGreat Sound that lasts 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary stringsBright tone and punch like that of non-coated stringsThe Same Feel you get from Traditional StringsWhat causes ordinary strings to go dead? You do. Every time you pick up your guitar and play, you leave tiny bits of dead skin, body oils, sweat, and all types of gunk loitering on your strings. Stuck between the windings (a space Elixir calls theCritical Zone of Tone), these contaminants dampen vibration and accelerate corrosion. The result? Strings that are dead, rough and dirty. The Cure for the Common String.Elixir Strings are coated in a unique way to protect wound strings from your DNA and other contaminants. A flexible, strong, yet micro-thin polymer tube defends the Critical Zone of Tone from invading enemies. Nothing (including the coating) gets between the windings. The result? Strings that sound and feel their best three to five times longer than ordinary strings. The Choice is YoursElixir Strings are available in two different flavors. Both deliver the same long life, but differ in tone and feel.

No need for a thousand dollar guitar September 21, 2005 O. BLGN (Istanbul, TURKEY) 26 out of 28 found this review helpful
I have a 25 year old Yamaha FG-200D(Domestic model, made in Japan) acoustic guitar. When I bought it, it was around 200 - 250 USD. I always liked the way it sounded. It was always loud, bass rich, but a little dull in high tones. Recently I purchased a set of Elixir Nanoweb Light strings. Afterwards, it sounded so great that I won't change it for a thousand dollar worth Martin. I realized that the difference was not in high strings, it was the coated low ones which now sounds crystal clear and still rich. I strongly recommend to any acoustic player.
Oh yes May 17, 2007 William R. Hoyes (Brooklyn, NY) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
two things that will make this simple for everyone. First off I will never go back to anything else for acoustic and second the polyweb are great but I HIGHLY recommend the nano. The tone is beautiful, soft and they last forever. If you want a higher sound with more treble go for the polyweb.
love Elixir nanoweb November 11, 2006 Owl (Minnesota USA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have been using Elixir Nanoweb strings for almost two years, and won't buy anything else. What they say about long string life is absolutely true. With other strings, I needed to change them after any gig or jam session that went more than a couple hours. If I didn't, the strings sounded really, really dead. I used to change strings at least weekly, and sometimes more often.
When I play Elixir strings, they sound great when I put them on, and they still sound pretty good when I change them 3-4 months later.
brings an old guitar to life December 2, 2007 JH 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Amazing product! I replaced my strings (which were at least 2 years old, Martin strings) with these and I was blown away. It made a world of difference. Even though my guitar is entry level, having these strings make it sound amazing! Now maybe, it was because my strings were so old that the difference felt so dramatic, but I still think the Elixirs tend to ring louder and better than a lot of other strings. The nano coating can feel weird and a little slippery at first, but you'll get used to it.
If you have an entry level guitar, these will make your guitar sound so much better.
If you have a high end guitar, then you know you need the best.
Great sounding, durable strings July 5, 2007 A. M Samsky (Brookfield, Connecticut United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I put these strings on my Saga Gitane guitar three months ago and they still sound great. I haven't noticed any physical wear, and they hold a tuning for days and days. They have a very nice, crisp sound and the high strings are especially sharp and clear. The coating feels great on the fingers and probably makes slides a little easier. They are a little pricey, but they probably last twice as long as cheaper strings. Highly recommended.
